Maybe you should …

Ask yourself the same questions… 😅

Bro, you must be a lot of fun at parties.

My post was simply to say they Adolfo Natalini was NOT the designer as conjecture implies. That’s it. I did extensive research and made the effort to make calls to Italy and such to track down his business partner.

No big discourse into GP and it’s history and such. Of course the laureato has revolved. So have many other watch models. I see evolution as a natural progression. The original laureato design was not to your liking(as you felt the need to say). That’s totally fine and your opinion.

I’m in touch with the Macaluso clan as well as GP current management. I don’t like all that I see happening today with the brand.

For sure, things have changed since the untimely death of Gino. And if you ever have the chance to read my others posts, you may see that I am a big fan of GP neo-vintage during the Macaluso era.

So let me focus on the research I’m doing. First trying to dispel falsities and then trying to get down to the truth.

Why the brand does not want to reveal who the original designer might be as simple as the designer not wanting the publicity. Or it could be much more than that. Either way, that is their prerogative and out of my control. I don’t waste time with what is out of my control.

And it does not stop me from trying to find out who the actual designer was …

Adolfo Natalini did NOT design the orginal Laureato in 1975

Adolfo Natalini did NOT design the orginal Laureato in 1975. GP knows who the designer is but they will only say it was an in-house designer and they will not release his name. After I spoke with Fabrizio (his business partner for over 30 years) last week...

Welcome. ☀️ Why cover it?

It’s public information on their website. And it’s part of the proof.

Yep... Me too.

Yep … me three 🤔

The designer may be in his 70’s now as the laureato is soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025. At least now we can say concretely who the designer was NOT. 😄

Agree ☀️

But perhaps folks from the press need to ask this question point-blank during an interview with GP management. Tim Mosso in the house … 😄👋 Either way, at least we know who the designer was NOT. For the longest time, folks assumed it was Adolfo and perhaps...

I'll look into this.

At that time, indeed.

😄 actually … no

The “secret” is that GP won’t reveal the name. That’s why you have to say “probably” this and “probably” that. We know the names of many other designers from that era but not the Laureato. It’s been withheld even though many folks would like to know. It m...

Well then you know... All fine... ;)

I distinguish between marketing and what a brand says about themselves -and- what is happening in the market. GP Seahawk was my very first expensive watch - so I was a big fan of the brand. I saw the firm several times with my own eyes, I knew the people....

Hard to say Nicolas … 🤔

I’m really not sure but perhaps with some collective digging, the truth will be revealed to us in the near future. ❤️

Ooh … nice idea. 💡

But how to get the plans for

the laureato? Any ideas?

Ask to the museum.

One step settled at least. I knew it was not Adolfo and then I thought, why not just ask his business partner. ☺️

Good idea!
